How to Open GTBank Account with Naira MasterCard and Token Device

Recently I explained the steps on how to I got my GTbank Token Device Activated after Much Hassle. During the process, I get to a point where I mentioned  that some numbers need to be generated from a token to perfect the transaction. Today, I want to share with you on how you can open a GTbank Account and get you Naira MasterCard.

Firstly, walk into any close GTbank of your choice and visit the customer care stand. Tell the customer care person that you want to open an account with them. You will be give a form to fill right there, but make sure that you carry the following along when going to open a Savings account with them:

1. I,D Card (National, Voters' Card or International Passport)

2. Current Utility Bill (PHCN, LAWMA or Water Bill)

3. At least 2 Passport Photograph.

4. At least 4 to 5,000 Naira to open the account because of future charges on your request for the token device

Note when filling the form make sure you thick the box for internet banking services.

After filling the form also ask the Bank Officer on how you can  get the TOKEN DEVICE. Ypou will be directed on how to apply for that too. A token device cost about N2,500 , I cant really remember the exact price but it is not up to 3,000 as at the time I ordered for mine and as at the time of this post.

What is GTBank Token?

The GTBank TOKEN gives you optimal protection against online thefts, hackers and fraudsters. It is the key that grants you full access to carry out 3rd party transfers and payments online via the GTBank internet banking platform anywhere in the world.

How to use a token?

The token device is required when:

•     Transferring money from your account to another GTBank account or to other banks.
•     Generating secure codes
•     Conducting FX transfers
•     Processing Cash/Draft In transit
•     Adding more service options on our Internet Banking platform (add service)
•     Making FX Sales e.t.c

Note: When conducting any of the transactions listed above, you will be required to input a 6-digit code in a defined field to validate and conclude the transaction. This code can be generated by clicking the white button on the device.

•     Pick up token immediately from the same branch.

If you find this process stressful, just do everything at the bank there. You will be given a form to fill for the Token Device. You will also be told when to come back to collect the device and your ATM card. This doesn't usually take more than a week
